Have you ever had this or a similar thought? Maybe you like to draw, paint, travel, or write poetry. I have loved reading since I memorized my nursery rhyme book at the age of three, according to my mom. Words can lift, depress, color, take you to a different place and time. I digress.
Someday, I want to write a children’s book. I’ve thought this, dreamed about this and toyed with themes over the years but, keyword here, but I was too busy or too tired, too this or too that. I’ll start later. I’m not a writer, I’m not good enough to write a book, or I’m just an ordinary girl from Central Minnesota or wherever. Famous last words, right?? In October 2019, I attended a women’s retreat that challenged me to write the first sentence. I can do that, I replied. It took 8 months but I did it. Wrote the whole darn thing, in fact. So, I challenge you as you read this post, write the first sentence, draw the first line, brush on that first stroke of color, book that someday trip. You can do it. I know you can. And it will feel incredible!
